Product Description

Coral 2,4-D (2,4-D Dimethylamine Salt 720 g/L SL) is a systemic, selective, post-emergence herbicide formulated as a Soluble Liquid (SL), belonging to the Phenoxy Carboxylate chemical group. It controls annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in paddy, wheat, maize, sugarcane and rubber plantations without significantly harming the main crop when used at the recommended rate and timing.

Mode of Action

• Coral 2,4-D is a Group 4 (Phenoxy Carboxylate) systemic herbicide — a synthetic auxin.
• It is absorbed by leaves and translocated throughout the plant, mimicking natural plant growth hormones.
• It causes uncontrolled, abnormal cell growth in susceptible broadleaf weeds, leading to twisting, wilting and death.
• At the labeled rate, cereal/grass crops such as paddy, wheat and maize are not significantly affected.

Directions for Use

• Apply as a uniform foliar spray at the crop growth stage recommended for each crop (see table below).
• Calculated on the basis of 5 knapsack sprayer loads of 16 L water per acre.
• Apply once per crop season.
• Wait at least 48 hours after spraying before re-entering the field.
• If rain falls within 6 hours of spraying, re-application may be required.

Recommended Rate

Application Timing by Crop

• Paddy (direct-seeded): 21–28 days after sowing
• Paddy (transplanted): 25–30 days after transplanting
• Wheat: when plants are above 10 inches tall
• Maize: at the 2–8 leaf stage
• Sugarcane: 6 weeks after planting
• Rubber: when weeds are 4–8 inches tall

Target Weeds

Annual grasses and broadleaf weeds, including common broadleaf and sedge species found in paddy, wheat, maize, sugarcane and rubber fields.

Precautions

• Wear gloves, a face mask, goggles, a long-sleeved shirt, long trousers and a hat during mixing and spraying.
• Avoid direct contact of the spray with eyes and skin.
• Do not eat, chew betel, smoke or drink while handling or spraying the product.
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap after handling.
• Wash contaminated clothing thoroughly after use.
• Do not spray against the wind.

First Aid

• Remove contaminated clothing immediately.
• Wash affected skin thoroughly with soap and water.
• If in eyes, rinse gently with plenty of water, holding eyelids open, for several minutes.
• If inhaled, move the person to fresh air.
• If swallowed, rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting unless advised by a doctor.
• Seek medical advice and treatment in all cases.

Antidote

No specific antidote. Treat symptomatically according to signs of poisoning.

Storage & Disposal

• Store in the original tightly closed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.
• Do not reuse empty containers for any purpose.
• Bury empty containers deep in the ground, away from water sources; do not wash spray equipment or empty containers in rivers, streams or ponds.
• Do not burn or dump. Keep away from food, animal feed, seed and fertilizer.
