Product Description

Coral Pendilin (Pendimethalin 33% EC) is a pre-emergence, selective herbicide formulated as an Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC), belonging to the Dinitroaniline chemical group. Applied to the soil surface before weeds emerge, it forms a treated layer that controls germinating annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in paddy, onion, garlic, groundnut, sesame, sunflower, beans, potato, cotton and other field and vegetable crops.

Mode of Action

• Coral Pendilin is a Group 3 (Dinitroaniline) pre-emergence herbicide.
• It is absorbed by the germinating shoot and root of susceptible weeds as they emerge through the treated soil layer.
• It inhibits cell division, preventing normal root and shoot development so that treated weed seedlings fail to emerge or die shortly after emergence.
• Since it acts before weeds emerge, it must be applied to a weed-free, well-prepared field before germination.

Directions for Use

• Apply as a uniform spray to the soil surface at the crop/timing stage recommended in the table below, calculated on the basis of 5 knapsack sprayer loads of 20 L water per acre.
• The soil should have adequate moisture at the time of spraying.
• Lightly incorporate into the top soil layer with shallow tillage within 24 hours of spraying where recommended.
• Wait at least 24 hours after spraying before re-entering the field.
• The field should remain free of rain for at least 2 hours after spraying.

Target Crops

Paddy, Garlic, Onion, Groundnut, Sesame, Sunflower, Beans, Potato, Cotton, Chickpea, Green pea, Tomato, Chili, Eggplant.

Target Weeds

Germinating annual grasses and broadleaf weeds.

Precautions

• Wear gloves, a face mask, goggles, a long-sleeved shirt, long trousers and a hat during mixing and spraying.
• Avoid direct contact of the spray with eyes and skin.
• Do not eat, chew betel, smoke or drink while handling or spraying the product.
• Wash hands thoroughly with soap after handling.
• Wash contaminated clothing thoroughly after use.
• Do not spray against the wind.

First Aid

• Remove contaminated clothing immediately.
• Wash affected skin thoroughly with soap and water.
• If in eyes, rinse gently with plenty of water, holding eyelids open, for several minutes.
• If inhaled, move the person to fresh air.
• If swallowed, rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting unless advised by a doctor.
• Seek medical advice and treatment in all cases.

Antidote

No specific antidote. Treat symptomatically according to signs of poisoning.

Storage & Disposal

• Store in the original tightly closed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.
• Do not reuse empty containers for any purpose.
• Bury empty containers deep in the ground, away from water sources; do not wash spray equipment or empty containers in rivers, streams or ponds.
• Do not burn or dump. Keep away from food, animal feed, seed and fertilizer.
